This time last year, I sat in my living room, slightly mystified and terrified that I had just quit a successful career. I did it because it was no longer a good fit for me. In the following 12 months, our family sold our house and moved across the country; my daughter started college, we bought a house, I started a new company, and my husband started a new job. Yet, after the initial shock, I look back, and it's my life's most relaxed and happiest time. It wasn't without stress, there was plenty of that, and it was/is crazy busy, but I got to choose how I managed it all in a way that works for me. These were the choices that defined me last year. They are the moments that make up the pages and chapters of my story. We all get to write our own book. What's important is that we pick up the pen.
