Understanding our stress responses and staying calm is critical when faced with situations that may trigger a reaction. As an overthinker and someone who favors control, I am more susceptible to these responses from less threatening events. Still, I'm also hyper-aware of when they occur so that I can respond accordingly. Everyone manages stress differently, but we can all benefit from understanding that sometimes our body and brain are going to react in situations that aren't threatening. Breathe, know it will pass, and it happens to everyone!
